Westmeath up next for buoyed up hurlers in National League

AFTER their great away win over Antrim last Saturday, the Kerry senior hurlers will have their first home game in the Hurling League, Division 2A campaign on this Sunday against Westmeath at 2pm. Admission price is €10 with all Under 16s free of charge.

Further rounds against Mayo on Sunday, February 17 at Austin Stack Park, 2pm; away to London on Saturday, February 23 at McGovern Park, Ruislip, 1pm.; Meath on Sunday, March 3 at Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney (as part of a double bill with the Kerry v Monaghan Allianz Football League game).

Colleges

IN the semi-final of the Munster Colleges Under 19 C hurling competitio­n, Causeway Comprehens­ive School were defeated by St Annes, Community College, Killaloe on a 1-20 to 1-6 scoreline.

Kerry players have been making their mark in the Third Level Colleges competitio­ns in recent weeks. A number have been involved with IT Tralee in the Ryan Cup – they had a 3-15 to 0-3 win over Athlone IT, while Bryan Murphy is captain of the Garda team, Brandon Barrett is with WIT; Jordan Conway with LIT and Shane Conway with UCC.

Coaching

THE Kerry Coaching and Games Foundation Level Coaching Course scheduled for this Saturday has been cancelled due to lack of bookings.

Clubs

THE Tralee Parnells Spring Hurling Academy will commence on Friday week, February 8 at Tralee Sports Complex.

It will cater for Under 6 to 10 hurling and camogie. Equipment will be provided. Tralee Parnells will also hold a one day Foundation Level Course for underage courses at the Tralee CBS Sports Hall on this Saturday, 10.00am – 2.00pm Details of both events on the Tralee Parnells Facebook page.

Kilmoyley Hurling Club will hold their 57th Annual Social on this Friday, February 1 at Ballyroe Heights Hotel.

Guests of Honour will be players from the club who have won All-Ireland Minor ‘B’ Hurling medals over the years.
