Ciara’s search for mystery admirer

- By SINEAD K ELLEHER

KNOCKNAGOSHEL’S Ciara Mangan has a mystery admirer and she has taken to social media to solve the riddle.

The 28-year-old, who works in Glamour Beauty Salon in Listowel, received an unexpected Christmas card just a few days ago. It was from a man she had met on a night out in Cork in November but she didn’t get his name.

The man was certainly impressed with Ciara as he posted the card without knowing her surname or address. The card was simply addressed to Ciara, 13 The Square, Listowel.

Ciara has decided to investigate further, taking her plea onto social media.

The story is gathering pace as it appeared on TV3 and has even made its way onto the front page of The Kerryman.

We wish Ciara every success.

IT seems that a Knocknagoshel woman has made quite the impression on a young Dublin man – so much so that, from the few details they exchanged on the night they met, he managed to send a Christmas card to her place of work.

28-year old Ciara Mangan was more than a little surprised to receive a Christmas card just last week from the mystery man who stated that he was delighted to meet her on the night but regretted not approaching her the following day.

Without a surname and with some details of her work place, he posted the card simply to ‘Ciara’ in ‘13 The Square, Listowel’.

Low and behold it arrived, just a little bit late.

Sadly, reuniting the pair is proving a little more difficult as the mystery man had revealed no details about himself, forcing Ciara to take the drastic step of taking to social media to seek out the mystery man.

The tale unfolded at the Silver Spring Hotel in Cork on November 17 when Ciara got chatting to a man from Dublin who was on business in Cork. Unfortunately, no details were exchanged between the pair on the night but it appears he was smitten by the Kerry girl and subsequently sent her the Christmas card.

“I think he didn’t include any details because he wasn’t sure it would get to me but we can’t even make out the signature. I only got the card last week,” said Ciara. The card prompted Ciara to put the feelers out in search of the mystery Dub but – to date – there has been no luck.

Ciara’s story has been on Facebook and even on TV3 but there has been no contact yet.

“I decided I had nothing to lose so I put it up on Facebook. It is a mad thing to do but I decided to make the effort,” she said with a smile.

She describes him as “tall with dark hair and a beard”.

“He was with another man from Derry and they were seeking business premises in Cork and staying in the hotel,” she added.
