Bob’s daughter’s wedding set to stir poignant memories
FIFI GELDOF is set to marry in the same church that her tragic sister Peaches wed, the Irish Mail on Sunday can reveal.
Fifi, 32, is engaged to sand artist and busker Andrew Robertson. He popped the question last May. The daughter of singer Bob Geldof, 69, announced the engagement and proudly showed off her sparkling ring last year with the caption #boydonegood. Now she is excitedly planning her eclectic summer nuptials, which include her dog Lola, designer Jasper Conran and a quiet country church.
The MoS can reveal that she is planning to walk down the aisle in the St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Church in the village of Davington in England.
The church is located on part of the property owned by her father Bob at his country estate called Davington Priory.
In 2012, Peaches married musician Thomas Cohen in the same church. Photographs of the wedding showed Peaches beaming with joy as she married the musician. Poignantly it was also the same church at which Peaches was laid to rest just two years later. In April 2014, mother-of-two Peaches was found dead at her country home and it was later revealed that she had died of a drug overdose. Peaches was buried in her wedding dress. But the tragic family are planning for happier times as Fifi has decided that the church is a fitting venue for her upcoming wedding.
The bride-to-be has also made plans for her faithful friend Lola to act as a ringbearer at the ceremony. Lola is Fifi and Andrew’s beloved pet pooch and the doting ‘parents’ are planning for Lola to have an important role at their ceremony.
Fifi is keeping tight-lipped on details of her wedding gown. But she has enlisted designer friend Jasper Conran to make her bridesmaids’ dresses.
Fifi’s wedding comes soon after her father Bob’s, who last year married his partner of 19 years, Jeanne Marine, in the south of France.
Their beloved pet pooch Lola will be ringbearer
