Wins for U12s and U13s

-

Congratulations to our U12 hurlers who won the shield final on a scoreline of Castlelyons 1-11 Aghada 2-7, finishing their season on a high.

In a tense and exciting final there was never much between the sides throughout the game, with excellent hurling on display throughout. Castlelyons led by 2 points at half-time after claiming an early goal 1-4 to 0-5.

Aghada came out strongly in the second half, notching up two goals, and with 3 minutes left on the clock Castlelyons trailed by 1 point. Our lads showed great character, kept fighting and levelled the game before picking off a point in the last minute to win the game. Castlelyons abú.

U13S WIN THE SHIELD

Congratulations to our victorious U13 team who came out on top in the Division 3 Hurling Shield final versus Fr O’Neills on a scoreline of 0-12 to 1-4.

In what was a highly competitive game, scores were hard to come by in the first half, our boys were down by a solitary point at half time on a scoreline of 0-4 to 1-2. In the second half our lads battled hard and put in a huge effort to take control of the game against a very good Fr O’Neill’s team and come out with the win.

Thanks to Fr O’Neills for hosting the game and having the pitch in excellent condition at this time of the year. Castlelyons abú.

A BIG DAY BECKONS NEXT SUNDAY

A big day beckons for the club. We take on Kerry senior hurling champions Crotta O’Neills in the Munster Intermediate Club semi-final next Sunday in St Senan’s GAA, Mountcoal, Co Kerry. The Kerry champions beat Ferrybank of Waterford at the weekend and they have home advantage for this upcoming tie.

This team has been on a brilliant journey so far this year and we want to keep the ball rolling and make another final. This is a huge opportunity to make a Munster final and they don’t come around too often. We would love to see a big Castlelyons contingent make their way to the Kingdom to shout on the lads.
