U12

Our U12s made the long trip to Waterford City on Thursday, 15th July to take on Mount Sion in their second league match. It was a great match between two balanced teams. Our girls got stuck in from word go in the first half and played some excellent camogie and fully deserved their 2-0 to 1-0 lead at half time.

Mount Sion came more into the match in the second half but our girls gave 100% with some excellent tackling. Unfortunately our girls just couldn’t convert their chances in the second half and Mount Sion piled on the pressure picking off some good scores. Mount Sion ran out winners on a final score line of Ballyduff 2-0 Mount Sion 4-1. Well done girls on a great effort. Thanks to our coaches Karen O’Donovan and Ailish Kenneally for looking after the girls on the night.

U16

Ballyduff 3-08 Brickey Rangers 0-4

Our U16s travelled to Bushy Park on Tuesday, 13th July to take on Brickey Rangers in a challenge match. The match was played at a fantastic pace and was very physical for both teams in the blistering heat. The first half was even as both sets of forwards getting some great scores and both sets of defences defending very well with some great hooks and blocks.

However, our girls rallied

in the second half and really found top gear with some excellent team work, passing and tackling. Our goalkeeper and defence were rock solid from start to finish, our midfield worked tirelessly for the full 60 mins and our forwards converted some great scores to put the match beyond reach from Brickeys in the second half.

Well done girls and full credit to both teams on a great game of camogie which will serve them both well heading into the next few league matches. Thanks to our coaches Shane Feeney, Martina and Willie Hogan for all their work so far this year. Final score: Ballyduff 3-08 Brickey Rangers 0-4.

U16 Team vs Brickey Rangers: Millie Feeney, Maebh Landy, Nora Ahern (c), Grace Kenny, Katie Kenneally, Ailish O’Donovan, Ellen Hogan, Kate Ahern (0-2), Sibhe Collins (0-3), Molly Kenneally, Niamh Ryan (0-3), Maeve Hickey (1-0), Sinead Branagh, Sarah Barry and Ella O’Brien (1-0).
