TRIUMPH READY FOR BLAST-OFF...

-

THE Triumph Rocket 3 has remained one of the most unique bikes of its kind during its 20 years on sale.

Now, a new generation promises to deliver more performance, better handling, and striking looks.

It’s now known as the Rocket 3 Storm and comes in two forms: as a pure naked roadster, called the Storm R, or as the GT, a more relaxed tourer. The latter has a more upright riding position with bars that sweep back further by 125mm and a lower, more comfortable seat.

Featuring the world’s largest production motorcycle engine with a capacity of 2,458cc, the new Rocket 3 Storm’s output increases to 182hp and 225Nm. The inline three-cylinder motor uses a ride-by-wire setup and is paired to a six-speed gearbox, sending power to the rear wheel via shaft drive.

There are four riding modes available including an individual mode that can be adjusted for throttle response and traction control settings.

Other on-board tech includes Hill Hold to assist when pulling away on an incline, electronic cruise control and an optional Quickshifter.

Lighter cast aluminium ten-spoke wheels help reduce unsprung mass, benefiting handling. The Rocket 3 gets 47mm Showa suspension up front, which is fully adjustable for rebound, compression damping, and preload.

There’s massive stopping power thanks to its radial Brembo Stylema calipers with twin 320mm discs and a 300mm radial monobloc rear caliper. Cornering ABS is standard to ensure optimal braking performance through bends.

A five-inch TFT colour display has a stylish look and can be set up to display a message with the owner’s name on start-up. Keyless ignition and steering lock are standard, but they can be disabled, as can the key fob, to prolong battery life and increase security.

Paul Stroud, Triumph’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “Known around the world as the ultimate muscle roadster, the Rocket has already achieved global sales of more than 18,000 since the 2.5-litre engine was introduced in 2019. By listening to feedback from our customers, we know they love the Rocket’s muscular presence and heart-stopping performance. We also know that riders desire even more.

“That’s why the new Rocket 3 Storm R and GT have been given an impressive power and torque increase, even greater agility and an even darker, moodier style and presence on the road.”
