Happiness is mane thing for Hughie...
SURGERY A BOOST AFTER ‘ WORST YEAR OF HIS LIFE’
REALITY TV star Hughie Maughan has opened up about the “worst year” of his life — as he’s set to make a return to our screens with a new head of hair.
The Ballymun star is hoping to find love again as he confirmed a return to First Dates and has also filmed Living With Lucy – but he would never go on that “diabolical show” Love Island.
Anxiety
The Big Brother contestant opened up about the worst year of his life – but said his new locks have put a spring in his step after the surgery in Juvida clinic in Skipton, Yorkshire in the UK.
It came after what Hughie called a rough 12 months when “everything I knew fell down around me”.
That included strife after he split from Big Brother love Ryan Rutledge, with his woes leading to mental health problems.
Hughie told The Star: “It’s been the hardest year of my life. It’s been terrible. I’ve had to take anxiety medication, I went through a break up, my ex was not being very nice to me on social media and constantly putting me down publicly. My younger sister was in intensive care this “Everything I knew fell down around me. I had no work, nothing.”
But he said the spare time gave Hughie the chance to get his hair transplant that he had longed for.
“I waited since I was 15 to get this hair done. That’s how long it has bothered me.
“I know this sounds dramatic, but I literally do feel like a different person. I feel so good about myself. I feel so happy that I’ve done it. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.
Trolls
“It will change my life because my hair affected me, worse than anything. I’ve had trolling about it but the way it has affected me is my own self- esteem, growing up, it was really quick at receding. I couldn’t even have any trendy hairstyles. “I’ve always felt embarrassed about my hair, even when I was dating. I always felt like it made me look years older,” he said. But in light of the hair transplant he feels invigorated and has his eye on his career, with several shows in his sights “I’d love to do Celebs Go Dating in the UK–they need an Irish person ,” he said.
