BA boss gets the top post at Aer Lingus
FORMER British Airways Gatwick boss Lynne Embleton has been appointed CEO of Aer Lingus.
Ms Embleton has held various senior roles at British Airways and has been chief executive and chairperson of IAG Cargo since 2017.
She replaces Donal Moriarty who has been interim chief executive since October 2020 and who will resume his role as the airline’s chief corporate affairs officer.
International Airlines Group boss Luis Gallego said: “Lynne has huge experience within the group.”
A WOMAN in her 40s has been charged following a cannabis bust in the capital, it has been revealed.
While searching a house in Summerhill, Dublin 1, on Wednesday, gardai uncovered €59,600 worth of the drug. They arrested the female at the scene.
The search was carried out as part of ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of drugs in the area.
The woman was questioned at Kevin Street Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
She appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice yesterday morning.
THE Climate Action Bill must be urgently published after Ireland’s latest poor climate rating, the Social Democrats have said.
The Sustainable Progress Index commissioned by Social Justice Ireland revealed that we rank in the lowest position out of 15 EU countries on the environment.
Social Democrats TD Jennifer Whitmore called for the Bill to be introduced “without delay”.
She said: “With another disappointing performance by Ireland in its implementation of environment and climate action measures as set out under the UN sustainable development goals, the publication of the new Climate Action Bill is urgently required.”
