One night stand-up
Comic Daniel reveals he wants romp with Irish girl after show
SCOTTISH comedian Daniel Sloss has admitted he is on the hunt for a one-night stand with an Irish woman after his performance tonight.
The funnyman revealed he will be going on the pull at Dublin nightclub Coppers following his show in Whelan’s. He said: “I would consider having sex with an Irish girl but I wouldn’t go out with one. “I think relationships are cancer, I despise them. After the gig I’ll just stay in Whelan’s and drink and I love Coppers. I don’t like pretentious nightclubs.” The 27-year-old honed his craft straight out of secondary school and has performed nine sell-out shows at Edinburgh’s Fringe festival and is a regular on the Conan show in the US. And he told how Irish stars drew him to the world of comedy. He said: “Ed Byrne is one of the reasons I got into stand-up, I used to watch him so much when I was a kid. “I love Andrew Maxwell, he’s one of the hardest workers and most natural stand-ups and Andrew Stanley is one of the best comperes in the world.” After a decade in the industry Daniel isn’t afraid to say he’s “damn good” at performing. And while he revealed he often feels like a “bag of s**t” on stage, he follows the lead of his hero Conor Mcgregor. He added: “I’m a massive fan, I take real inspiration from him – like f**k yeah, I want to be that confident. “I like how confident he is before matches and how humble and honest he is afterwards. “He was on the Conan O’brien show and I’m friends with the guy who books acts so I used to make JP watch Conor Mcgregor videos all the time before Conor was famous. “When he eventually got Conor on the show I was like, you b ***** d. “So then I woke up to a Conor Mcgregor voicemail on my phone one morning which I received like a schoolgirl jumping up and down on the bed. “The next time I was over Conor was on the show so JP invited me down to the studio to meet him and he took time out of his busy media schedule to talk to a giddy fan – he’s one of the nicest men I’ve met.”
