him joint 12th with Leighton Baines on the alltime list, and third behind fellow Ireland legends Peter Farrell (453 games) and Tommy Eglinton (428 games). A new deal could see Coleman’s Everton career coincidde with the club’s exit from Goodison Park at the end of next season. The club captain has played under nine different managers since signing from Sligo Rovers in January 2009 for just £60,000. ‘I think he’s absorbed a lot from a lot of different experiences here,’ said Dyche. ‘For a player who has been here so long, the good part of all of the turnover of managers is you can learn a lot from the varying inputs, varying styles and ways of working and I think he likes that.’ ‘He knows the club like the back of his hand.

Yes I could see him (coaching) in the future but it’s if he chooses to.’ Meanwhile, two potential US buyers are exploring a takeover of Everton after the virtual collapse of Miami-based firm 777 Partners’ attempt to purchase the club. One of the interested parties is thought to be investment company MSP Sports Capital, who have lent the club money to fund their new stadium and considered investing in Everton last year, before talks collapsed. MSP, headed by former agent and baseball franchise owner Jeff Moorad, have a stake in the McLaren Formula One team. Two Liverpool businessmen, Andy Bell and George Downing, are also thought to be ready to take a stake in Everton by waiving the millions of pounds owed to them in loans. The identity of the other interested US group is unknown.

EVERTON have offered Seamus Coleman a one-year deal which would extend his career at the club to a 16th season, all of them in the Premier League.

Manager Sean Dyche confirmed yesterday that talks are ongoing and that Coleman, 35, has indicated he is eager to continue playing.

‘I’ve already spoken to him about his view and I said to reflect on where you’re at. I think his thirst is to keep playing so we’ll be looking into that,’ said Dyche. ‘I don’t think there’s any reason to wonder about his last game — or not at this stage — that’s his words, not mine. He’s made it clear at this stage that his mind set is to keep playing.’

Injuries restricted Coleman to just 11 first team appearances this season but could figure in Everton’s final home game of the campaign tomorrow against Sheffield United, amid uncertainty about the club’s future and ownership.
