Abbey tells how castor oil helped her to beat ‘terrifying’ hair loss

- By Emma Powell

HER glamorous lifestyle as a top model and the wife of a millionaire former footballer is the envy of many.

But mother-of-four Abbey Clancy can suffer health worries like the rest of us, previously recalling her ‘terror’ after clumps of hair fell out during pregnancy. Now she has revealed that the ‘miracle’ of castor oil helped it to grow back – along with her eye lashes.

The oil, which can be massaged into the scalp, contains an acid which helps to lock in moisture that promotes hair growth.

Ms Clancy, 35, who is married to former soccer star Peter Crouch, said having three children in four years took its toll on her health.

She added: ‘I was so ill during pregnancy and my skin was so reactive.

‘It was allergic to everything – even fabrics and washing powder.

‘I also had a lot of hair loss. It grows back, but when clumps of hair fall out when you’re washing it, it’s terrifying. I had three kids in four years so I felt like I had no hair left by the end!’

She said it was ‘damaging to my confidence’. Former Strictly Come Dancing winner Ms Clancy told OK! magazine: ‘It’s scary for any woman going through that. I took a lot of vitamins like zinc, biotin and omegas. But my miracle product for hair loss, especially eye lashes, is castor oil.’

The oil is commonly taken orally and used as a laxative to clear constipation. Ms Clancy’s revelations come after lifestyle guru Trinny Woodall, 57, last week told of her hair loss nightmare after battling Covid.

She showed strands which had fallen out in an Instagram video.
