CONOR McGregor is ‘causing trouble’ in his New York hotel room – even after being arrested for smashing up a bus.

The UFC fighter was reportedly overheard being ‘rowdy’ in his suite at the luxury Loews Regency Hotel where he is staying waiting for his bail money to be wired from Ireland.

McGregor has allegedly angered people on his floor with his antics – and has been sleeping in until noon, according to the New York Post newspaper.

The mixed martial artist is stuck in the US while most of his $50,000 bail money is wired to America for throwing a metal handtruck at a bus carrying his rival fighters at the Barclays

Center in Brooklyn. The 29-year-old has been charged with assault and could face up to 11 years behind bars, although he will probably walk free with a fine or community service.

The New York Post reported that a businessman staying at the hotel had got fed up with McGregor’s antics. The man, who rented a room near McGregor, said: ‘He’s in there, causing trouble. I heard he was being rowdy last night.’

One of McGregor’s entourage confirmed he was staying there and said he was sleeping in until lunchtime.

The businessman spoke out on Sunday morning, the day after McGregor was released on bail. The Dubliner is said to have put up 10% of his bail and remains in the US while the rest of the money is being wired over from Ireland.

The Lowes Regency is located in Midtown Manhattan and suites cost up to $3,500 (€2,850) per night. The hotel has a 24-hour fitness centre, a 10,000 sq ft salon and spa, and claims to be the place that created the original ‘power breakfast’ in the 1970s.

McGregor was seen leaving the hotel wearing a pink long-sleeved top, jeans and carrying a bottle of water. The UFC fighter was arraigned on Friday on charges of felony criminal mischief charges and misdemeanour assault, menacing and reckless endangerment charges following a backstage melee he sparked at a UFC event in New York City.

He spoke only to acknowledge that he understood the conditions of his release, saying: ‘Yes, your honour.’

He was released on a $50,000 bond and is due back in court on June 14.

Video footage appeared to show him throwing a handtruck at a bus full of fighters last Thursday after a news conference for UFC 223 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

McGregor, who was with a large group of men, was said to be trying to get at UFC 223 main event fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov because the Russian had been involved in a hotel altercation with fellow fighter and friend of McGregor’s, Artem Lobov.
