Keane is close to a decision on his future

- By DAVID SNEYD

SHAMROCK Rovers boss Stephen Bradley expects Robbie Keane’s future to become clearer in the near future with the Republic of Ireland record goal scorer keen to continue playing for ‘another two or three years’. Keane (left) has been training with the Hoops for the last number of months as well as turning his hand to coaching sessions with the Tallaght club’s strikers. Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp admitted he would welcome a reunion with his former Tottenham Hotspur striker while former team-mate Teddy Sheringham, now in charge of Atlético de Kolkata in the Indian Super League, is reported to be interested in the 37-year-old Dubliner. ‘He’s still in every day, training like a 17-year-old, first on the pitch and last off it,’ Bradley said. ‘But it looks like he’s going to be on his way soon. I think he’ll definitely be a coach, 100 per cent. When you see him work, I know he wants to play for another two or three years, but I think he’s definitely thinking of coaching as well.’ One member of the Rovers coaching staff who is taking a back seat with the first team is Damien Duff as he concentrates on managing the club’s under-15 side in the new National League which is due to start next month. Meanwhile, Bradley confirmed that goalkeeper Tomer Chencinski reported an incident of racist abuse from some Dundalk fans at the end of Sunday’s game which is now being investigated by the FAI.
