Spot the twins... Beyoncé’s back with a bizarre new mum photo

- By Susie Coen

EVER since Beyoncé gave birth last month, fans have been desperate for a glimpse of her newborn twins.

And when the singer finally released a photo to introduce the latest additions to her family, a glimpse was all they got.

The bizarre photo shows the 35year-old in a floaty robe in vivid shades of purple and blue, in which her tiny boy and girl can just be seen cradled in her arms.

Nestled in swathes of garish material, the twins, who have a full crop of black hair, snooze happily through their debut. The snap, released on Instagram, names the month-old boy and girl as Sir and Rumi. They will take their rapper father Jay Z’s surname Carter.

In the photo, Beyoncé wears a floor-length pale blue veil and stands before a background of flowers in a seafront garden. It is believed to have been taken at the Malibu home she and her husband – who are worth a combined $1,161million – are renting for $400,000 a month.

The picture echoes the dramatic photo she used to announce her pregnancy, which saw her kneeling on a grassy bank wearing only lingerie and a veil. That image received more than 11million ‘likes’ after it was released in February, becoming Instagram’s most popular photo. Further photos showed the flower-painted star posing almost nude.

Though Beyoncé did not confirm her babies’ sex, her mother Tina Lawson wrote online: ‘Proud grandma hello Sir Carter and Rumi Carter. Boy and girl what a blessing.’

It seems the twins will be joining the family business, with their parents registering Sir and Rumi as trademarks in June.
