CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR ARTER

-

CHELSEA have struck a deal with Monaco for Tiemoue Bakayoko. The midfielder will have a medical today ahead of a £40million move, in time for the club’s pre-season tour to China and Singapore. His arrival should allow Nemanja Matic, who wants to join Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, to leave for £40m.

LIVERPOOL have been told by Red Bull Leipzig that not even a bid of £100million will tempt them to sell Guinea midfielder Naby Keita. The 22-year-old has been manager Jurgen Klopp’s No 1 target this summer.

HARRY Arter has signed a new fouryear contract at Bournemouth. The Republic of Ireland midfielder only signed a fresh three-year deal last summer following the club’s first season in the Premier League. Arter (right), who turned 27 at the end of last year, has made 239 appearances for the Cherries with 35 coming in the top flight last season as Bournemouth finished ninth. Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe said: ‘Harry has been such an important player for us over a long period of time.’

MANCHESTER CITY and Manchester United will wear shirts featuring their city’s ‘worker bee’ emblem when they meet in next Thursday’s pre-season International Champions Cup in Houston. The shirts will be auctioned after the match to raise money for victims’ families of the Manchester terrorist attack in May.

JERMAIN DEFOE left Bournemouth’s pre-season training camp in Spain to fly back to attend the funeral today of Bradley Lowery, who died from neuroblastoma last Friday at six years old.
