Jim-jams in the street? That’s not very Posh
AS a mother of four with a fashion empire to run, Victoria Beckham probably feels like there just aren’t enough hours in the day. And the 43-year-old seemed to be trying to save every minute – by skipping getting dressed in the morning. During a hectic week showcasing her new collection, the ex-Spice Girl appeared to be still in her pyjamas as she ran errands in matching blue checked top and bottoms in New York. At least she left her slippers at home, dressing up the look with high heels and her trademark sunglasses. But while she looked as if she’d just rolled out of bed, the outfit was in fact from her new Resort range. Prices for the collection have not yet been released, but other items by the designer currently on sale cost up to €3,170. Pyjama-style outfits are a growing trend. Actress Salma Hayek wore a €3,800 pink silk pyjama suit in Cannes last month, and model Gigi Hadid was seen in a green and white striped Morgan Lane set in New York in April. Mrs Beckham wrote on Twitter on Tuesday: ‘Excited to be in New York to preview my ready-to-wear collection!’ She had already shown off other items from the range including a vibrant tangerine blouse and matching midi-skirt and an orange €700 jumper paired with neon green trousers. Mrs Beckham, who received an OBE for her work in fashion this year, claimed the range ‘is rooted in the idea of reality’, adding: ‘These clothes offer a sense of familiarity and assurance.’
