THE LATEST 172 DEALS

MORE 172 deals are popping up by the day. Peugeot’s Sensation Days offers include a five-year warranty and finance from 0% APR on selected models, with up to €4,500 scrappage or €1,500 deposit contributi­ons. This applies to models registered up to 31 July. Meanwhile, Alfa Romeo has special deals on MiTo, Giulietta and the newly launched Giulia. The latter car, priced from €39,995, is available from €436 a month on PCP, at 2.9% APR.

MADE IN CHINA

THE first Volvo S90 saloons built in China and transporte­d by rail arrived in Belgium this week. Over 200 cars were delivered via the new China-Europe rail link from the assembly plant at Daqing, northeast of Beijing. With a travel time which is only one-third of the usual sea route, customers can expect specially ordered models a great deal faster, and what’s more the environmen­t benefits from a reduction in carbon by a third compared with traditiona­l shipping.

OPEL’S NEW SUV ARRIVES

OPEL’S new Crossland X compact SUV arrives in dealership­s nationwide this weekend as a companion to the Mokka X. Priced from €21,995, it comes with Opel OnStar personal assistant, full infotainme­nt and connectivi­ty systems, head-up display, 180-degree rearview camera and full LED headlights. A larger SUV, the Grandland X, will be launched later this year.
