Sun, sand… oh, and going to the gym – it’s Rosie on her holidays

MOST of us look forward to our holidays to indulge in food and drink, and lay off the gym.

But nothing seem to deter Rosanna Davison from her diet, not even a sun-soaked break in Mauritius.

The former Miss World travels to the exotic location every Christmas with her family to ring in the New Year – and unlike the majority of vacation-goers, Rosanna, 31, and her husband Wesley Quirke have continued with their gruelling exercise regime. ‘I have been enjoying my food and a cocktail or two, but I’ve been in the gym most days,’ Rosanna told the Irish Daily Mail.

The qualified nutritionist, who is now writing her second book, a lifestyle bible to follow her bestselling cookbook Eat Yourself Beautiful, believes the best way to kick start 2016 is by taking ‘baby steps’ to adopt healthier habits.

‘It’s important to make small changes that will fit in with your lifestyle and be sustainable, because there’s no point in making huge changes that will be forgotten about by February,’ she said.

‘This could be avoiding alcohol on weekdays, going to the gym or a fitness class two or three times a week, taking less sugar in your tea or coffee, reaching for a piece of fruit instead of a chocolate bar,’ she added.

Rosanna, the daughter of Lady In Red singer Chris de Burgh, will continue writing her next book, set for release in the autumn, once she returns to home shores. ‘It will be more focused on fitness and fitness foods to really make the most of your workouts... with a number of different eating plans to follow and at least 100 recipes too.’
