Enough of this cold play... Gwyneth returns to US

- By David Gardner

WITH a young family in London and a career in Hollywood, it was only a matter of time before something had to give.

Now Gwyneth Paltrow and husband Chris Martin are moving to sunny Los Angeles permanently, leaving Britain behind after nine years. According to reports, the 39year-old actress has been ‘exhausted’ by travelling between Britain and the US, and is keen to spend more time with her mother, the American actress Blythe Danner.

Earlier this summer, the couple bought an €8million house in the exclusive Brentwood suburb of LA, which they are reportedly hoping to make their permanent home now that Martin is on a year-long break from recording with Coldplay. They are said to be looking for private schools in Los Angeles for their daughter Apple, eight, and six-yearold son Moses. A source told the USbased Radar Online website: ‘Gwyneth spends a lot time between the UK and the US and she’s exhausted. She spends a lot of time away from her mum Blythe and wants to be closer to her as she gets older.

‘Chris was very understanding and is willing to give living in Los Angeles a chance because he’s always loved the city.’ The couple also own a €4million penthouse in Manhattan and a €4.2million mansion in the Hamptons beach resort near New York. They added the 8,000 sq ft Brentwood home, designed by US architect Windsor Smith, to their property portfolio in June.
