Realtor joins TDP

Tirupatibased realtor ‘Dollars’ Divakar Reddy formally joined the Telugu Desam Party in the presence of party president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday.

Mr. Naidu welcomed the young leader into the party fold and asked him to work for the party’s victory in the contiguous constituencies of Tirupati, Chandragiri and Srikalahasti.

It may be recalled that Mr. Divakar Reddy himself was an aspirant for the prestigious Chandragiri ticket. However, as the ticket was already confirmed to the TDP constituency incharge Pulivarthi Venkata

Mani Prasad (alias Pulivarthi Nani), Mr. Chandrababu Naidu asked Mr. Divakar Reddy to extend cooperation to Mr. Nani and ensure his victory. Mr. Divakar Reddy’s entry into active politics is seen as an attempt to poach the vote bank of Chevireddy Mohith Reddy, the YSRCP candidate for Chandragiri.

The TTD vigilance officials, on Thursday, took into custody an imposter Narasimha Murthy, who posed as an IAS officer. The fraud came to light, when the staff at the TTD Additional EO office stumbled upon a letterhead submitted by the charlatan for protocol darshan wherein, he had mentioned he was working as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and IT, New Delhi. On suspicion, the staff informed the vigilance personnel who took him into custody and lodged a police complaint. The police have identified the accused to have resorted to similar frauds at Guntur and Vijayawada.
