INDIA front has lost 5% of its vote share after Udhayanidhi’s comments: Annamalai

-

BJP State president K. Annamalai on Monday said Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s call to eradicate ‘Sanatana dharma’ had eroded 5% of the vote share of the Oppositionled INDIA bloc.

“He (Udhayanidhi) should continue to speak like this in the days to come, so that this alliance would lose at least 20% of its votes,” Mr. Annamalai said, while addressing the media at the Thoothukudi airport on his way to Tenkasi district to start the second leg of his ‘En Mann, En Makkal’ roadshow.

BJP State president K. Annamalai during his yatra at Pottalputhur near Kadayam in Tenkasi district on Monday.

According to him, people who backed the DMK in past elections will never do it again if Chief Minister M.K. Stalin dared to seek votes by highlighting his ‘achievements’. Tamils had been hit hard by ram

pant corruption in all government departments. Hence, Mr. Stalin was highlighting the Opposition’s electoral alliance, INDIA, to get votes, he said.

Like Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who faced legal consequences for his comments on the ‘Modi community’, Mr. Udhayanidhi will face the wrath of the people, he said.

He accused “DMK goondas” of murdering BJP functionaries. While a youth wing functionary was murdered in Palayamkottai, four of a family, including BJP worker Mohanraj, of Palladam, were hacked by drunkards, he said. “While the police’s pistols and lathis are in deep slumber, the machetes of criminals rule. The primary reason behind this menace is liquor, the Stalinled government’s source of revenue,” he alleged.
