Unacademy, The Hindu organising conclave for Civil Services aspirants
Unacademy, a multinational educational technology company, is organising a twoday conclave in association with The Hindu for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) aspirants from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on July 20 and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 21.
The conclave aims at giving students an insight into governance and policy, enhancing their critical thinking and providing a foretaste of the world of bureaucracy.
Politicians, journalists, and activists will touch upon various aspects of India’s evolving identity, global influence, and infrastructure development.
Yogendra Yadav, political activist and academician, will speak on “The idea of India: its core, challenges, and solutions”. Suhasini Haidar, Diplomatic Affairs Editor of The Hindu, will discuss “Is India’s soft power policy still relevant?” Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, will address students on “What will India’s infrastructure look like in 2030?”
Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat, Additional DirectorGeneral of Police, Law and Order, Telangana, will guide students on “Career paths via UPSC exams and responsibilities of the youth of India”.
Former cricketer and India coach V.V.S. Laxman will speak on “Strategies for excellence: lessons from Indian cricket’s success”.
“Environmental challenges for India”, a session providing a comprehensive framework on challenges and future solutions for environmental sustainability in India, will be addressed by Rajya Sabha member Jairam Ramesh.
J. Radhakrishnan, Additional Chief Secretary, Tamil Nadu, will speak on the role of IAS officers in disaster management and public policy.
Actor Shefali Shah will discuss the role of women in leadership and social change.
