Senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao has criticised the Congress government for not heeding repeated pleas of the unemployed youth who are appearing for the Group exams of Public Service Commission and others such as District Selection Committee (DSC) exam, and seeking at least two months gap between the competitive tests.

Addressing a press meet here on Monday with party leaders S. Madhusudana Chary and Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, he said it was the Congress leaders who demanded a twomonth gap when in Opposition but had forgotten it after coming to power.

The BRS leader stated the unemployed youth had also sought for increasing the eligibility of candidates who clear Group-I prelims to Mains to 100 for every post available so that they get a fair chance. He reminded that Deputy Chief Minister M. Bhatti Vikramarka, in his capacity as the Congress Legislature Party leader then, had requested the former government to increase the ratio to 1:100 from 1:50.

However, the Telangana State Public Service Commission

IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu has criticised BRS MLAs T. Harish Rao and K.T. Rama Rao for speaking on unemployed youth and job calendar and likened it to “the devil quoting the scriptures”.

He said it was the current Congress regime that conducted Group-I exams after 12 years. The job calendar will also be released as assured by government.

chairman and the government functionaries were passing the buck to each other when approached on the issue by the unemployed youth.

He urged the government to add 2,000 posts to Group-II services and 3,000 to Group-III services and conduct the recruitment tests only after that.

Ahead of Assembly elections, the Congress had promised a mega DSC to ll 25,000 teacher posts but later, limited the number to 11,000, he stated.
