- STAFF REPORTER

The 19-year-old collegian who killed his female escort and part-time model, Mansi Dixit (20) on Monday afternoon, following a scuffle over her trivial demand of Rs 2,500, confessed to killing her with an iron stool in a fit of rage. Sayyed, student of a Hyderabad college, was produced in court on Tuesday and has been remanded in police custody till October 20.

Police sources said Dixit, came from Kota in Rajasthan and had come to the city a few years ago to try her luck in the glamour industry. However, after losing her father over a year ago, her family faced financial problems and was finding it difficult to make ends meet. To support her family, Dixit took up odd jobs along with modelling.

On Monday, the accused, Sayyed, had booked an appointment with Dixit through an online escort service and made an advance online payment to the company. However, police sources suspect that after Dixit's visit, when Sayyed demanded she go for a stroll with him, she allegedly wanted an additional Rs 2,500, and an argument ensued. In a fit of rage, Sayyed hit Dixit on the head with an iron stool, killing her instantly. He then shoved her body into a suitcase and decided to dispose of it. He booked a cab and dumped her body at Mindspace, Malad, around 2 pm on Monday.

Bangur Nagar Police, who arrested Sayyed within four hours of his dumping the body, said they would visit the Oshiwara residence where the incident took place. Vijay Bane, senior police inspector of Bangur Nagar police station said, "Sayyed claims there was a scuffle over financial issues and after losing his temper he killed her. However, he refuses to divulge any more details of how and why he killed her."

The civic-run Siddharth Hospital performed an autopsy on Dixit's body and handed over her body to the family. The autopsy reports, expected by Friday, will explain the cause of death.
