Woman’s headless body found in Nerul
The headless body of a 25year-old unidentified woman was found at Palm Beach road at Nerul Navi Mumbai on Monday morning.
The decapitated body was kept inside a maroon trolley bag at Chanakya Marine Training Institute at the farm of Mahendra Tandel. The severed head was also stuffed inside the trolley bag wrapped in a piece of cloth. The locals then informed the NRI Sagari police station at Navi Mumbai.
According to the Non-Resident Indian Sagari police, “The identity of the deceased is not yet known. A first information report (FIR) has been registered against unknown persons for murder (Section 302) of the Indian Penal Code.”
Hemant Nagrale, commissioner of police, Navi Mumbai, said, “We are questioning the locals to find out if anybody has seen the woman in the area with the help of
photographs. We are also checking for the missing records of women in the age group of 25 to 30 years so that the deceased can be identified. The matter is being further investigated.”
“We would also be investigating if the woman was sexually assaulted before the murder. The police will also be questioning Tandel if required,” said an officer.
According to the police, no CCTV footage regarding who left the bag at the farm is available at present.
The locals have alleged that the marshy area does not have enough CCTV cameras for security purpose.
