Pratyusha’s histopathological report endorses FPJ’s claim first published on April 03

The histopathological examination of tissues of late TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee’s uterus revealed that she was pregnant and had undergone abortion before her tragic death on April 01. The report of forensic test, conducted at JJ Hospital, has been handed over to Bangur Nagar police station for further investigation.

On April 03, FPJ was ‘first to publish that 25-year-old Pratyusha was pregnant’, weeks before this fresh twist brews in the case. A white thick fluid was found in her uterus at the time she committed suicide. Her uterus tissues were sent for forensic laboratory test whose report endorses FPJ’s claim. Though the gestational age is still not known but Pratyusha had taken ‘oral pills’ to abort her pregnancy in early March.

Sources, close to Pratyusha, revealed that her beau Rahul Raj Singh, who is believed to be the main suspect in the high profile case, did not accompany Pratyusha to the doctor at the time she went for abortion.

The young shining TV star, popularly known as Anandi after her role in daily soap opera Balika Vadhu, was found hanging in her flat at Goregaon early this month.

The bad chemistry between Rahul and Pratyusha has given wide room for many to pinpoint fingers at the former, whose father Harshvardhan Singh – of late - has written a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, citing that his son has threatened to commit suicide.

On Monday, Bombay High Court extended interim relief to Rahul, who has been booked under IPC Sections related to abetment of suicide, criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt.

The preliminary autopsy report has found ‘ligature mark’ over Pratyusha’s neck. Her samples of blood, hair and nail have been preserved for DNA analysis. Her viscera sample is still undergoing test in Kalinga Forensic Science Laboratory.
