Komali suffers from back problem

The actress vows to be back on the sets soon

Komalee Prasad was recently diagnosed with a disc bulge and ligamentous hypertrophy in her lower back.

“I was suffering from infection, dizziness and fever and I rested for a day. However, the next morning the entire stretch from my neck to my lower back was painful. I couldn’t even move my body,” she shares.

She continued with her shooting schedules after taking pain killers. But tests, including MRI identified the problem.

“The doctors asked me to rest for a month, and not to do my regular workouts and gym schedules,” she reveals, adding that she had to wear a lumbar support brace.

The doctors feel the issue was the result of non-stop shooting, stress and wear-andtear of the back.

“Earlier, I was a bit chubby but I have now lost weight. I guess I need to be more careful about my back,” the actress says.

The doctors advised her to start yoga. Accordingly, she has started wellness therapy (a fusion of Yoga and Ayurveda). “For the next two months, I will be working on wellness therapy whilst strengthening my back because my spinal cord is weak,” she says.

Her filmmakers have also told her to take rest, and resume work only after she recovers. “But I know how difficult that is, and how much expense is involved,” she says. “I am a fighter; I will be back on the sets as quickly as I can,” she asserts.
