Prabhas’ filmmakers start work on their sets

Artwork construction for the actor’s upcoming period drama will resume next week

Filmmakers of Prabhas’ forthcoming film were supposed to shoot for one month in Italy and Austria in June. In the meanwhile, the world shut down with the pandemic playing spoilsport.

While the chances of travelling abroad are unlikely any time soon, the filmmakers are now planning other options. To ensure no more time wastage, the filmmakers have decided to shoot the Indian sequences for the next two months. To this extent, they have even started building a set across four floors in a private studio in the city.

A source from the unit informed us that the set is that of a hospital, costing around `5 crore. “It will have an ICU, a special ward, general wards, doctor rooms and other art work,” the source adds.

The filmmakers need crew members from Mumbai and other areas to resume shooting in Hyderabad. However, although Prabhas is game to join the sets, the rise in positive cases is putting off the movement of the crew members for the planned one-month schedule in Hyderabad.

“That is also why the filmmakers have decided to utilise the current idle time to build the sets and be ready once the situation is favourable for shooting,” adds the source, sharing that the hospital set’s construction may take place towards the end of the month.

Further more, the makers are mulling over shooting the Austria scenes in Georgia because the number of cases in Georgia is comparatively low.

“Several sequences and a song in outdoor location were to be shot in Austria, but the team is now reconsidering the locales and are eyeing Georgia as an alternative,” shares the source.

The hospital set worth `5 crore will have an ICU, a special ward, general wards, doctor rooms, etc.
