The Delhi police has busted two illegal drug rackets in separate incidents. The seized heroine amounted to ` 10 crore in the international markets. Some Nigerian nationals were involved in both the cases. The drug was going to be taken to Punjab when the police raided the consignment.

In a recent development, a team of Special Cell has busted one of the two international drug cartels. Two key members of the cartel, Surinder Kumar alias Chawla ( 38), a resident of Bhatinda in Punjab and Denny Kumar ( 40), a resident of Muktsar in Punjab, have been arrested. On their instance the main supplier John Bosco, who is a Nigerian national presently residing at Sector- 19 in Dwarka, has also been arrested. The team has recovered 2.5 kg of high grade heroin worth ` 10 crore from them. Members of this cartel are known to procure their supply of heroin from Afghanistan and Pakistan, which they supply further to drug peddlers in Delhi and UP. Accused John disclosed that he got his supply of heroin directly from his Nigerian counterparts based in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He also disclosed that persons acting as drug couriers brought the heroin from these countries hidden inside their stomach in the form of capsules. Both the accused persons were subjected to sustained interrogation. Based on their disclosure statement a raid was conducted at John’s house, from where he was arrested on Friday. Over 500 grams of heroin was recovered from his house. It is suspected that Bosco was staying in India illegally.
