Qualcomm pats itself ‘proudly’ for all Android firsts

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

Apple has a major influence on the technology market in the recent times and every single product announcement from the Cupertino-based company is taken seriously both by consumers as well as its rivals. That is why there has been a host of pricey smartphone launches from the world’s renowned manufacturers to tackle and dampen the next iPhone’s launch. Qualcomm is one company who has been in legal disputes over technological patents with Apple, which is why they did their part in dampening the hype around the next iPhone. And they have done it in an astonishingly proud yet funny manner.

On their blog, Qualcomm has very proudly listed out all the major technological achievements in the world towards the smartphone as a product. The list shows all the technical firsts that have been made on the Android platform, with most of them aided by Qualcomm’s technical prowess. From the popular dual camera system to the fastest Bluetooth 5 to the bezelless display, Qualcomm shows that all of them have been done first on the Android platform before being

taken forward by ‘other platforms’. Now, it’s now at all difficult to interpret Qualcomm’s aggressive move to dampen Apple’s iPhone product launch due to happen in the course of a few hours. Apple is expected to announce a lot of technological firsts in the world of smartphones at the iPhone launch event, especially involving the better facial recognition feature that is claimed to get rid of the TouchID fingerprint sensor.

Nonetheless, Qualcomm’s efforts have surely made the Android platform and the smartphone platform on the whole a better one compared to ones that existed a few years ago. Way to go, Qualcomm!
