Mother, brother kill girl, held attempting to dispose body

A casual fight between the victim and her brother had triggered the incident

GHAZIABAD: In a bizarre incident, a woman and her son were arrested by Ghaziabad police while she was going to dump the body of her 15-yearold daughter on a scooty along with her son.

Police officials said that the mother and son duo had stuffed the body in a sack and were caught by neighbours while ferrying the body to a secluded spot.

The incident was reported from Sangam Vihar colony in Loni area of Ghaizbad on Thursday evening. Cops said that the girl was strangled to death by her mother and minor brother on Thursday around 2:30 pm while they were arrested later in the evening around 4 pm.

According to police, the deceased girl has been identified as Khushi, a native of Mansurpur area of Muzaffarnagar district and currently lived in Sangam Vihar colony of Ghaziabad along with her mother and brother. People gathered at the spot

Cops said that girl's father had died a few years ago while her mother always used to take favour of her son which bothered girl and she usually fight at her home for that.

“Both the accused were caught red handed while they were taking the girl's body on a Scooty which was stuffed in a sack. The neighbours suspected something to be fishy and intercepted them, upon which they found the girl's body and immediately informed police. A police team rushed to the spot and took the body into police custody which was sent for the post mortem while both the accused were arrested from the spot,” said S P Singh, Station House officer of Loni border police station.

The officer further said that a casual fight between the victim and her brother had triggered the incident.

“Upon interrogating the accused woman, she told police that Khushi never pay heed to what she say and often quarrel with family over pity issues. On Thursday also, Khushi had a fight with her elder brother for which the mother had scolded her. However, she started misbehaving and amid a fit of anger, the woman along with her son strangled her and she died on the spot,” Singh said.

“The accused woman further told police that due to Khushi's fighting habits, they had to change their rented accommodations frequently and had shifted to Sangam Vihar colony around four days back after they were forced to vacate their rented house from Delhi,” added Singh.

Meanwhile police have arrested the woman and her son while a case of murder has also been registered against them.

“Following the incident, an FIR under section 302 (punishment for murder) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against victim's mother Anita Devi (45) and her brother. We are interrogating them further to ascertain the actual reason which led to such a tragic incident,” said Singh.

In another similar incident, Ghaziabad police found an unidentified body of a 32-yearold man which was packed in a suitcase lying near the GhaziabadMeerut highway.

Police have sent the body for autopsy and waiting for the reports.

According to police, passerby called the police around 10 am and gave the information about the suitcase.

When police reached the spot and opened the suitcase, they found a body with multiple injury marks while the hands were tied with a rope.

Atish Kumar, Circle officer said that police is trying to identify the dead body.

Police has already informed the police stations of nearby cities for identification.

“Someone has killed him and dumped his body under the area of Sihani gate. We are trying to identify the body and are fetching the details from police stations of Ghaziabad and nearby districts,” he added.
