School bus driver sexually assaults nursery girl

- RAHUL SINGH

NOIDA: In yet another tragic case of sexual misconduct against minors, a three and half year old nursery student was allegedly sexually assaulted by the driver in a school bus in sector 70 area of Noida. The family also alleged that the school administration was reluctant in taking actions against the accused and kept ignoring them for more than 15 days past the incident.

The matter came to light when the girl returned from her school, Sapphire International School, on October 9.

“My husband went to pick my daughter from school bus in the afternoon of October 9 and found her crying badly. Somehow he hushed her and asked the reason upon which she said that the driver of school bus removed her undergarments and inserted his finger into her private part,” the girl's mother said in her complaint.

Later in the evening when mother came home, the father narrated her the ordeal.

“When I came home in evening I took my daughter alone to a room and asked her what has happened. She told me what exactly she went through and I kept on shooting the video of her in my mobile phone. She was so scared that she requested me, not to tell about this to anyone else the culprit would kill her,” said her mother.

The mother immediately shared the video with her class teacher and school principal and went to school the next day upon which the principal assured her to take appropriate actions against the accused. She asked her to remain calm for another 15 days till they investigate the matter. The school staffers also showed pictures of four different drivers to the victim and she identified the culprit among them in front of the school principal and other staff members, her mother said.

“On October 23, when we reached school and met the schools staffers they denied of taking any action and said that the school is not responsible for any such mishappening. We then lodged a complaint with police on Thursday,” victim's mother said in her complaint.

Superintendent of police (rural), Gautam Buddh Nagar, Vineet Jaiswal, said that a case under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered.
