- SAYANTAN GHOSH

NEW DELHI: When the doorstep delivery (DSD) of services was launched on Monday, questions were raised on implementations. But when the

Millennium Post tried to avail one such service, the reality was unfolded. The whole process of calling to fixing an appointment with the person who will reach to collect details took nearly 6.45 minutes of talking over the phone.

At last, an SMS alert was sent regarding the call which carried the separate charges of services and the changing of address, followed by the time it will take and other details. Moreover, if the call centre has received a call but the caller was in the queue of other calls hence could not be answered then after the call, the caller will also get a message to call back. Thereafter a person from the call centre will call back the caller within 24 hours. Talking about call waiting an official said, “We are trying our best to respond to all the calls but at times there are long waiting. We have increased the strength of the call centre and in future, the strength will be further increased.”
