2 arrested for robbing hair worth Rs 25 lakh
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Monday claimed that it has arrested two persons for robbing hair worth Rs 25 lakh from the Outer Delhi area. The accused were trying to sell the hair but before they could do so they were arrested.
The accused were identified as Mangel Sain and Ajay Kumar. On July 27, a PCR call was received at Nangloi police station regarding the robbery of hair (used in preparing wigs).
The complainant Jahangir Hussain stated that three persons posing as customers had visited their shop and started inspecting the hair. “Suddenly, one person put out a Deshi Katta and overpowered the complainant and his brother. They confined them to a room and then robbed five to six gunny bags of hair and cash Rs 30,000 along with mobile phones of the complainant,” police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Seju P Kuruvilla stated that they analysed the CDRS and IMEIS of suspected persons. After using one SIM card for three to four days, the accused used to change the SIM cards. “The team identified Mangal Sen and on August 5, he was nabbed from Rampur in UP and recovered three mobile phones from his possession,” said the DCP. He further claimed that the accused along with Rahul, Rajesh and two other persons hatched the conspiracy with one Ajay Kumar.
On the day of the incident Sain along with two persons entered the premises of the complainant posing as customers and committed the crime while the others remained in the car outside the complainant’s house.
Ajay was arrested from Outer Delhi. He disclosed that the robbed hair was kept in Laxmi Nagar area. Thereafter, the police conducted the raid and recovered 118 kg of the robbed hair on his instance from Ganesh Nagar, Pandav Nagar and from his godown in the presence of complainant.
