GURUGRAM: Amid calls for action by agitated parents against Ryan International School, Gurugram, where a seven-year-old boy Pradhyuman Thakur was killed allegedly by a bus conductor inside a toilet on Friday morning, the acting principal of the school has been suspended. Also, the services of the private agency which provided security to the school have been suspended.

The accused Ashok Kumar, who was arrested on Friday and has reportedly confessed committing the crime, was produced in court on Saturday and sent to three-day police remand. Lawyers of Sohna refused to fight his case and the protesting parents demanded a CBI probe into the case.

There have been angry protests by hundreds of parents since Friday morning when the sevenyear-old boy was found with his throat slit in the school bathroom. They were demanding the strictest of action against the school management “for abdicating their duty of providing security to the students”.

Gurugram Police stated on Saturday that it has sought a week's time to complete the investigations. “What has happened is shocking and deplorable. We are looking into every angle to ensure that justice is delivered in this case at the earliest. We will complete our investigations in seven days and at the end of it, we want to make sure that everyone is satisfied with the outcome,” said Gurugram Police top cop Sandeep Khirwar.

“I want to reassure that we will not shield anyone in our probe. After our investigations, we will also push for the setting up of a fast track court to expedite the trial,” he added. The police are probing whether the accused was involved in a similar offense earlier too.
