GURUGRAM: With major roads in Gurugram facing daily challenges of massive traffic jams, driving in Gurugram is turning out to be an unpleasant experience for most of the commuters.

As congestion due to high vehicular traffic becomes a major civic hindrance in Gurugram, the city police have now stepped in towards decongesting major areas of the city.

Among the major steps taken towards decongestion, the Gurugram Traffic Police has announced the road leading towards famous Sector 29 market as a one-way route.

The entry to Sector 29 market will now be from the Crown Plaza Hotel route while the exit will be from the Kingdom of Dreams route.

The Police have deployed their staff and set up the banners for better information dissemination to the commuters about the change in route plan.

The police officials have mentioned that the move is been done on a temporary basis and will only be prolonged if it is found to be viable and useful in easing the movement of traffic.

The officials have stated that they are mulling change in the route plan of other areas in the city too.

The traffic police also plans to chalk out an action plan to decongest locations with minimum infrastructural changes.

The locations that will be taken up under this plan will be Sethi Chowk, Kabir Bhavan and areas located on the Old Delhi-gurugram Road.

A team of officials will also be formed by the Gurugram Traffic Police who in collaboration with the City Regional Security Officers will jointly analyse the present drawings of the road design.

The team will later be a part in advising the civic agencies with their inputs on constructions of flyovers and underpasses that is slated to begin at major traffic junctions of IFFCO Chowk and Signature tower area.

It has also been decided that there will a meeting by the officials of the Traffic inspectors, ACPS, RSOS and local zonal officers once a month.

The officials are expected to conduct a joint field survey and also share information on the state of traffic movement in their areas.
