Delhi BJP making fun of poor by distributing sweets: AAP

NEW DELHI: Making a scathing attack on the Delhi BJP, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday said that poor people have been dying due to cash crunch after demonetisation while the BJP leaders have been making fun of them. Instead of solving problems of those queued up in lines, the BJP leaders are distributing sweets (laddoo) which reflects their sheer negligence and irresponsible approach towards those who have been suffering owing to demonetisation.

The AAP leaders Vandana Kumari and Akhilesh Pati Tripathi while addressing media said that Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari, by distributing laddoos to people, showed his disrespect towards poor people living in the city. “A large population of poor people living here have been forced to live without having two-time meals since the Central gov- ernment has forcibly imposed a currency ban. A major chunk, in absence of job, have been forced to return to their native places. The party (BJP) even after witnessing hardships of these victimised people have been rejoicing and recent incident of offering laddoos is a proof of our stand,” said the party leaders

Addressing media on Wednesday, party MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi said that the elevation of Manoj Tiwari as the Delhi BJP president became possible only due to his base Arvind Kejriwal from Poorvanchal but the irony is that he himself indulges in making fun of Poorvanchalis who have been living in a sizable number in the Capital.

“A major chunk of Poorvanchalis have always been purchasing CDS, DVD and cassettes of Tiwari’s songs that made him a popular star but instead of paying respect to them he (Tiwari) is making fun of them. The BJP leader must check misery faced by poor people as they are unable to make their ends meet,” said an MLA who also hails from Poorvanchal.
