‘Can’t stop making friends to avoid link-up rumours’
Beginning her career with the popular show Mahabharat in 2013 and following it up with the daily soap Pavitra Rishta, Aparna Dixit has had a decent run on the tube. However, in 2015, while working on her third show, Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, Dixit was allegedly romantically linked to her co-star Arjun Bijlani after reports of the actors cosying up at a party started doing the rounds. Though both of them clarified that they’re just “very good friends”, Dixit says that initially the incident affected her “mentally and professionally”.
“When you’re new in the industry, almost everything affects you. And such speculations are hard to handle,” she continues, “However, gradually, I’ve learnt how to ignore them. You’re only answerable to your near and dear ones. My friends and family didn’t believe what they had read. Thankfully, they know me, so I didn’t have to explain anything.”
The 28-year-old is thankful to Bijlani for handling the situation well, helping her sail though the tough time, and making sure that it doesn’t affect their friendship. “Initially, it was quite shocking. Thankfully, we moved on, and over the years, our friendship has only grown stronger,” adds the 28-year-old.
Meanwhile, a recent rumour says that Dixit shares a close bond with costar Rahul Sharma now, who plays the male lead in an ongoing show alongside Dixit. The actor is quick to say that Sharma is a close friend and that she doesn’t pay heed to such rumours now.

good actor and a supportive co-star, I can’t spoil my friendship with him for nothing,” asserts Dixit, setting the record straight once again by saying, “I’m not dating anyone right now.”
