Anupriya wants to ‘live many lives on screen’
Actor Anupriya Goenka, who recently returned to the big screen in the Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff starrer War, is more interested in roles that give her a chance to prove her versatility than just lead roles.
“I think instead of waiting for a lead role to come my way, I’d rather grab the opportunity to play a pivotal role in a film. As an actor, I want to be versatile and I want to live many lives on screen as a performer. In all the roles I’ve played, I had a certain responsibility. Getting this responsibility is important to me,” says Anupriya.
She goes on to add perseverance is important for an actor. “You never know when the next film offer [will] come your way. So, it is better to explore opportunities in every medium. Having said that, one should also be aware of how to say no if you do not believe in the story or role,” adds the actor, waiting to try genres like comedy and action.
Having started her career in 2013, Anupriya has appeared in films such as Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and Padmaavat (2018). She has also worked in web series like Sacred Games and Criminal Justice.
While her contemporaries admit that social media following is helpful for imagebuilding and bagging projects, Anupriya says she’s yet to get a hold of that skill.
“Honestly, posting pictures on social media is like going to the gym for me. You know it is important even though you dislike it,” laughs the actor, whose next is a political thriller by Prakash Jha.
