marked 70 Years of Excellence in a celebration held at Siri Fort Auditorium. The Chief Guest was His Excellency Anil Baijal, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and the Guests of Honour were Padmashree Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor – Guru Gobind Singh IP University and Naveen Jindal, a renowned industrialist and politician. Padmabhushan V. K. Shunglu –Chairman, DPS Society and Vice Chairman, DPS Mathura Road presided over the event and congratulated the school on the benchmark of completion of seventy years. Principal Deeksha Khera recounted the achievements of the school since its inception and highlighted the vision of the school. The Chief Guest Anil Baijal entreated students to develop a sound value system that would go a long way in building up a strong future for them. The distinguished guests released the school magazine followed by performances of the school choir. The welcome dance – Samagam – an amalgamation of Kathak,odissi,kathakalisought to pay a tribute not only to DPS Mathura Road but also all its core schools and The DPS Society. The highlight was ‘Navras’ – a Musical Dance Drama through which, the students portrayed the nine emotions or ‘rasas’. Ranjana Dean, Head Mistress – Junior Wing thanked the students and staff for putting up a synchronised show. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Reema Sharma, Vice Principal (Academics).
Sri Venkateshwar International School, Sector 18, Dwarka
celebrated the achievements of its young prodigies from Class 10 and 12. The programme commenced with the rendition of musical symphony, ‘Vaishanav jan to tene kahiye’ by the school orchestra followed by sharing of the glorious feats of the school. The occasion was graced by KPS Malhotra, Dy. Director Narcotics Control Bureau and Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Principal, Directorate of Education. The guests were welcomed by the Chairman Sailender Solanki and Co- Learner Nita Arora. Chairman’s Award for Overall Excellence was shared by class XII Science prodigy, Harshul Gupta and Humanities stalwart, Mayank Bhardwaj while Principal’s Award for
Leadership was conferred upon Pranjal Singla, the Head Girl. The school toppers of Class 10 and 12 were felicitated with a cash prize of Rs. 5100, certificates, trophies and books. Individual subject toppers were awarded thereafter. Awards in various categories were kept in reserve for mentors too. The last leg of the programme was the play ‘Gandhi’ which enlivened the mood of the programme.
ASN Senior Secondary School, Mayur Vihar
in collaboration with IQF (Indus Quality Foundation) hosted an Interschool Street Play and Power Point Presentation competition. Students from various schools of Delhi an NCR put up a grand spectacle with their performances on the theme, ‘Spiritual Empowerment
of Youth will generate responsible citizens of Future India’. They also created enriching Power Point Presentations on the theme, ’Global Leader will show the World: Multiculturalism based on the Spiritual view of Humans’. The Chief Guest was Prof. Anil Sahatrabudhe, the Chairman of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The best three performances were awarded with Certificate of Excellence and a trophy for both the events. School Chairman K. L. Luthra showered his blessings on the students. Principal Swarnima Luthra thanked the participating schools and the dignitaries present. Vote of Thanks was proposed by the school Coordinator Sushma Kalia.
