15 KILLED AS BUS COLLIDES WITH CAR IN ANDHRA

HYDERABAD: At least 15 members of a marriage party were killed and five injured when a multiutili­ty vehicle in which they were travelling rammed into a private bus at Veldurthi in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district on Saturday, police said. The victims belonged to Ramavaram village of Telangana’s Jogulama Gadwal district. “The vehicle jumped over the divider and rammed into a private Volvo bus on HyderabadB­engaluru highway. There were at least 20 people in the vehicle” a police officer.

Indian killed in the UK: Murder charge pressed

LONDON: The Thames Valley Police charged a man arrested in Birmingham with murder of an Indian who was stabbed in a car park in Slough, Berkshire, on Wednesday. Nadeemuddi­n Hameed Mohammed, 24, from Hyderabad, was reportedly working in Slough, near London. Police said: “Aqib Pervaiz, 26, of Rochford Gardens, Slough, was charged with murder in connection with an incident in Slough, which resulted in the death of Nadeemuddi­n Hameed Mohammed, from Southall, in the car park of Tesco in Wellington Street”. Pervaiz has been remanded to custody and is due to appear before a court Saturday.

2 Cong leaders enter into ugly brawl in Telangana

HYDERABAD: Two senior Congress leaders rained blows on each other on a public dais in Hyderabad on Saturday, landing the party leadership in an embarrassi­ng situation. The incident happened near Indira Park, right in front of Congress leader Rama Chandra Khuntia. Former RS member V Hanumantha Rao was addressing a rally when Khuntia arrived at the dais. Rao asked another senior Congress leader Nagesh Mudiraj to vacate the seat for Khuntia. This angered Mudiraj, who refused to get up. An altercatio­n ensued and Rao slapped and pushed Mudiraj from the dais and the latter immediatel­y got up and pushed the former MP down on the dais.

Fire breaks out in Rajdhani Express; no casualties

KHANTAPADA: A fire broke out in the rear power car of New Delhi-bhubaneswa­r Rajdhani Express at 12:48 pm near Khantapada in Odisha on Saturday. The escort party on the train and the on-duty guard noticed the fire and informed all concerned authoritie­s and the fire brigade. The generator car was detached from the train, and no passenger faced any difficulty as the fire did not reach any passenger coach.
