Nayak, Parmar dazzle in CCI’S win

MUMBAI: Cricket Club of India’s left-arm duo of Sujit Nayak (4/0) and Hitesh Parmar (5/28) bowled with devastating accuracy to restrict Muslim United CC to a 64-run total before CCI won on the basis of their first innings lead in an ‘A’ division match of the Dr HD Kanga League at the Brabourne Stadium.

Nayak sent down 10 dot balls as he claimed four wickets.

Others to impress were Parkophene’s Deepak Shetty, who claimed a seven-wicket haul and Victory CC’S Dhrumil Matkar, who struck a century (126 runs).

SARFARAZ RETURNS TO MUMBAI WITH A BANG

Sarfaraz Khan, playing in his first match here after he returned following a three-year stint with Uttar Pradesh, struck 87 off 107 balls to rescue Payyade SC from a debilitating position at three down with just six runs on the board in their match against Shivaji Park Gymkhana. Sarfaraz struck nine boundaries and three sixes to help Payyade declare their innings at a respectable score of 148/5. Shivaji Park Gymkhana scored 56/3 in the drawn affair. BRIEF SCORES
