45-year-old woman killed by two sons in Jaipur, one held

THE ACCUSED HIT THEIR MOTHER ON HER HEAD WITH AN IRON ROD MULTIPLE TIMES LEADING TO HER DEATH ON THE SPOT, SAY POLICE

Two men allegedly killed their 45-year-old mother by hitting her on head with an iron rod multiple times in Jaipur over a family dispute, said a police official familiar with the development on Thursday, adding, one of the accused has been arrested.

Confirming the development, Vishwakarma police station SHO Rajendra Sharma said, “The two men were nursing a grudge against their mother as they held her responsible for their father’s death. They also had a doubt over their mother’s character. They believed that their father died by suicide two years ago because of her”.

“They had been conspiring to kill her for the last few days.

We have arrested one of the accused while another one is yet absconding,” said the SHO

According to the police, the incident took place on Tuesday when the victim returned to her home from Delhi.

“She used to stay with her youngest son since her husband’s death while the two accused (her two eldest sons) had been staying with their wives in Jaipur,” said an officer.

The two accused called their mother last week following which she came to visit them on Tuesday. “They killed her on the same night when she was sleeping.They hit her head with an iron rod multiple times leading to her death on the spot,” said the SHO.

“We have recovered the murder weapon and the body has also been sent for the postmortem examination,” said the officer.

“During the questioning, the eldest brother confessed about the murder to the police. He has been arrested while we are trying to locate the other accused. A manhunt has been launched to arrest him at the earliest. A case has also been filed against the two brothers under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code,” said the SHO.
