The Congress will get the magical number to form the government, said senior party leader Sachin Pilot on Friday while exuding confidence that the people will give mandate to the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance.

The Congress is fighting a good election and the people are liking the party candidates, manifesto and the narrative, Pilot said. He said that this election signifies a call for change as the electorate “is disillusioned with the Bharatiya Janata Party”. Talking to the reporters after casting his vote in Jaipur, he stated, “We will secure more seats than the BJP. The feedback we are receiving... I have visited many states, and in the majority of places, people are disillusioned with the BJP government’s tenure of 10 years.”

Pilot said people are “scrutinising the report card of the BJP government’s 10-year tenure”.

He said, “I believe the Congress and the alliance will get mandate in the country as the people want change.”

Pilot said, “I can see a similar atmosphere, which was there in 2004 when the BJP came with India Shinning slogan in the elections, and the Congress government was formed. The Congress will get the magical number to form the government.” The former deputy CM said there is “no wave” this time, despite efforts to “play on sentiments”. “The public is intelligent.” Later in the day, while addressing a meeting in Sawai Madhopur, he said the Agnipath scheme is a major “deception” targeting the nation’s youth.

BJP spokesperson Mukesh Pareek said: “The way, people are enthusiastically casting vote shows that once again Narendra Modi will be the PM. Even Pilot knows that there isn’t a single seat where Congress can give competition to the BJP”.
