JAIPUR: Preliminary probe into the death of a young man and her woman friend in Jaipur on Friday has revealed they were perhaps in a “disturbed relationship”, police said on Sunday.

A 24-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were found dead in a house in Sanganer police station area of Jaipur on Friday.

“On Friday evening, the man entered the girl’s room and around 5.30pm they had food. Some cooked food was found in the room. We suspect that some hours later, a heated argument broke out between the two after which the man lost his control and smothered her with a piece of cloth and later hanged himself,” said a police official familiar with the investigations.

“The way the woman was killed indicates the two had disturbed relationship. The exact motive would be known once we analyze the mobile phones of the two deceased and take statements of their friends and family members,” the police officer said.

The Sanganer police station came to know about the incident on Saturday morning when owner of the house, in which the woman lived on rent, informed them. “The mobile phone of the woman was switched off since Friday evening. On Saturday morning, the landlord knocked at the door. When woman didn’t open the door, he asked some children to check through window of the room and came to know about the incident,” the police official said.

The woman, a native of Sawai Madhopur district, was doing her masters in Science from a local college and also preparing for government examinations. The man, a native of Dausa district, used to live in a rented house in Budsinghpura area and he was also preparing for competitive examinations. Both belong to same community, the police said.
