BJP MLA seeks divine help to punish users of plastic

KOTA : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Madan Dilawar has sought divine intervention to punish people who use plastic by breaking their limbs and bringing ill fate and poverty to their family.
A video of the Ramganjmandi, Kota, MLA praying before Goddess Durga seeking ill fate on plastic users has gone viral on social media.
“Maa meri tujhe se prarthna hai ki jo plastic istamal nahi karte unhe sukh samradhi aur sab khushiya dena lekin jo plastic main saaman laate ho aur jo plastic ya kaagaz ke cup main chai peete ho ya gandagi phailate unhe beemar kar dena ya unke parivar ke logo ke haath pair tod dena ya unhe nuksan kar dena aur unke ghar main paisa mat dena” (“God please give everything to those who do not use plastic but please make those people ill or break hands or legs of family members in their family, give them losses or keep those who bring products in plastic, drink tea in plastic or paper cups or spread filth”, prays Dilawar before Goddess Durga in the video.
“Maa tumse meri yahi prarthana hai kyunki gandagi nahi rahegi to sabhi sukhi rahenge aur sab khushhaal rahenge” (I pray before your Goddess that if there will be no filth then everyone will remain prosperous and happy). The MLA had earlier hogged attention by imposing a fine on himself for drinking tea in a plastic cup. He had then approached the Kota district collector and offered to pay a fine of ~ 5,000. However, the collector refused to accept the fine amount saying that there is no provision to receive the fine. Reacting to his video, Dilawar said that “I sought bad for people who refuse to give up plastic as a psychological pressure to discourage them from using it”. General Secretary of Pradesh Congress Committee Pankaj Mehta said that the mindset and behaviour of the Bharatiya Janata Party MLA appears to be childish as he should have done other things to create public awareness against plastic use.
State Spokesman of SC Morcha of the BJP, Debu Rahi said that the intention of Madan Dilawar was not inappropriate as he wanted to create awareness against plastic use.
