BIKANER: The Rajasthan police is going to develop at least one main road in every police station area for hassle free and convenient public movement across the state.

The police will also deploy traffic wardens to maintain smooth traffic movement and public awareness in regard of traffic rules.

The state police has launched a special drive named ‘Sugam Yatayat Samudayik Sahbhgita Abhiyan’ in every district to ensure at least one road free from encroachments and other traffic hindrances. Additional Director General of Police (CID) crime branch- Bhagawan Lal Soni issued a detailed order to all police ranges, commissionerate and districts to conduct this drive in their respective areas from January 1 to 31 January with the help of Community Liaison Groups (CLG) and prominent public personalities.

The order (HT has the copy) reads that – despite poor record keeping of CLG meetings; this is observed that the issues related to traffic management and encroachments on main roads has been raised repeatedly. This is also noted that these issues left unattended after the meetings expressing the need of collective responsibilities and organized planning. The order further reads that- to address the issues raised during CLG meetings a special drive will be conducted in every quarter of year 2019 to ensure a proper and time bound solution of the problems. In accordance of the order Bikaner police launched the drive in Kotegate police station area removing permanent encroachments from Dak- Bangla corner to fort school on station road. Station House Officer (SHO) of Kotegate police station- Vedprakash Lakhotia told HT- We tried to convince the encroachers to remove their illegal structures and they agreed. Police with the help of local authorities removed the hurdles in smooth trafficking and movement to develop a model road in our area.

The police head-quarter (PHQ) has asked all SP’S to list police station wise roads in their respective districts within three days, launch the drive as soon as possible and revert to PHQ with a photograph of the program.
