2 sisters die of electrocut­ion as high-voltage wire falls on house

: Two sisters were electrocut­ed to death after a high tension cable snapped in a dust storm and fell on their house in Rajasthan’s Sikar district, police said on Thursday.

The incident occurred in Almas village on Wednesday.

Aafreen, 18, and Shaina, 21, were electrocut­ed along with their mother Rehmat Bano and their younger sisters, eightyear-old Shania and 10-year-old Amreen, SHO Balara police station Arun Singh said.

Aafreen died while being taken to the hospital while Shaina passed away during treatment.Their mother and two sisters received injuries and are recovering, police official said.

The villagers have demanded financial compensati­on for the family and action against the power distributi­on company employees for their negligence, police said.

WOMAN DIES AS SAREE GETS TANGLED IN TYRE

Amba Bai, 48, a resident of Glass Factory area in Udaipur, died in a road accident when her saree got tangled in the tyre of the bike she was riding on NH 8 on Thursday . The mishap took place when Bai was returning back to Udaipur from Nathudwara with her nephew on his motor cycle.

The accident took place near Majera village on NH 8 when the saree she was wearing got stuck in the tyre of the speeding bike after which it lost control and skid on the road,said police.

Bai, who sustained serve injuries during the mishap was rushed to the MB hospital where she scummed to her injuries while her nephew Vikas Prajapat was provided first-aid and released,police.

The body was then shifted to a mortuary and was handed over to her relatives after conducting a post-mortem,police said.
