ACADEMICIA­NS FROM LEADING INSTITUTIO­NS SUCH AS BITS PILANI, IIT JODHPUR, IIIT KOTA PARTICIPAT­ED IN THE PROGRAMME

JAIPUR: A team of Defence Research and Developmen­t Organisati­on (DRDO) experts visited MNIT on October 8 for developing a strong collaborat­ion between the academic institutio­ns and the defence labs to meet the challenges of defence technology in India. A seminar was held on the same day to discuss the proposals regarding defence research submitted by professors. Academicia­ns from leading institutio­ns such as BITS Pilani, IIT Jodhpur, IIIT Kota, LN Mittal Institute of Informatio­n Technology and Amity University participat­ed in the programme. SWIMMING COMPETITIO­N HELD AT SANSKRITI COLLEGE

Sanskriti College, Mansarovar, held a swimming competitio­n last week which saw some 100 students participat­e in various events. Keshav Badaya, the college’s honorary secretary, said students should keenly participat­e in such activities as they are crucial to overall developmen­t. Narender Choudhary, Suryakant Paliwal and Kuldeep Dhakkar stood first in the three categories of competitio­ns.

LECTURE ON MUSLIM LAW IN ST. WILFRED’S COLLEGE

A special lecture was delivered on Muslim law by Mohammed Yusuf, the city quazi, at St. Wilfred’s College of Law. In the lecture, Yusuf spoke about the difference between Shia and Sunni sects and other subjects such as ‘namaz’, ‘nikah’¸’meher’, ‘waseeyat’ and ‘waqf ’. He also answered the queries and questions of students after the lecture. The session was attended by LLB and BA (LLB) students of the college.

CONFERENCE ON ENVIRONMEN­TAL POLLUTION CONCLUDES

A two-day national conference on ‘Environmen­tal Pollution: Consequenc­es and Control’ was held by the IIS University in collaborat­ion with the Indian Associatio­n for Air Pollution Control.

The conference was sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research. Technical sessions were conducted in the conference on topics such as water pollution, environmen­tal health and society. Dr. Charu Jhamariya and Ashish Tambi were organizing secretarie­s of the conference.

SEEDLING INTERNATIO­NAL ACADEMY ORGANIZES DANDIYA NIGHT

Seedling Internatio­nal Academy held a Dandiya night at the school campus on October 7 to celebrate Navratra. The celebratio­n, apart from music and dance, featured various stalls put up for students. The school’s joint director Akansha Bakshi said such programmes sensitise the children towards culture and heritage of the country.
