‘EVERY DAY, WE EXPLORE MORE WITH NISHA’

Earlier this year, Bollywood actor Sunny Leone and her husband, Daniel Weber, surprised everyone by adopting a baby girl, Nisha, from Latur, Maharashtra. As she returns from her first international trip with her daughter, we chat with Sunny about her family time and more.

How was your vacation? Our plan was to enjoy LA (Los Angeles) as much as possible. We had a family reunion with Daniel’s family, who hadn’t met Nisha until now. We were all very excited about that.

It was Nisha’s first international trip. So, it must have been very special for you and Daniel? With Nisha, every day is special, and for her birthday, we went to Disneyland. Since she’s very young, she might not remember a lot [when she grows up] but we’ll have pictures to show her what her first birthday with us was like. That’s why every day Daniel and I try and explore new places with her.

Recently, during Navratri, your condom ad sparked outrage in Gujarat. How do you deal with such things? You know, I strongly feel that all celebrities are soft targets. It’s not nice to hear nasty things about myself, especially that are not true, but I know who I am in life and what my goals are. I have a happy family and healthy family and that’s all I can ask for. The controversies that are made up mean nothing to me.

At the same time, when you go to places like Kathmandu and Kochi, you get great reception. How is it to see such a response in the smaller places, too? For me, people are the same all over the world. The nice thing about going to places like this is [that] people are so different than in the metropolitan cities. I love it and I’m happy to meet fans from anywhere in the world.

Tell us about your film with Arbaaz Khan... Working with Arbaaz has been amazing and he has become such a nice friend. I’ve learnt a lot from him.
